The earliest photographs were created by microscopic silver particles which turned dark when exposed to light. The science of capturing light has evolved to the use of light sensors that transform images into 1s and 0s and stored on digital media.

This science has been used to capture images of people, places and events so that people of future generations can see and experience these images. Sometimes the science is used to transform an artist's vision into reality and on rare occassions to true works of art.
